Happy Place: A New Movie Podcast With Cousin Tanner

The big news of the episode is the official launch of Happy Place, a movie and TV podcast Logan co-hosts with his cousin Tanner, who previously co-hosted the Binge Boys podcast alongside Logan and a rotating cast of friends. The name is a nod to Happy Gilmore, since the movies are literally the guys' happy place, and the two of them bonded for years over trips to the theater. The first episode covered the launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, split into a spoiler-free reaction followed by a deep dive into Marvel theories and Doomsday predictions. The second episode tackled something more ambitious: ranking roughly 70 projects across the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the movies, TV shows, and specials, while deliberately excluding the Fox X-Men films and the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies.

Looking ahead, Logan and Tanner are launching a Doomsday Watch series, working through about a dozen MCU projects they consider essential viewing before Avengers: Doomsday. They are watching them in randomized order rather than release order, discussing characters, lore, and how each project might connect to the upcoming film, with new episodes dropping every other week. Logan also folded in a tangent from a Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce luncheon, where the Atlanta Falcons' president and CEO spoke about keeping concession prices affordable at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It fed directly into Logan's own soapbox about the movie theater experience: he says if theaters ever become scarce, he will open and run one himself, concessions priced fairly included.

The Address Pet Peeve: Just Look It Up

Logan admitted he does not even have the address memorized himself and refuses to look it up for people who ask, insisting they pull up their own maps app instead. He drew a distinction between this and something like Starbucks, where confirming the specific location actually makes sense since there could be several nearby. For a small business with one or two locations, though, his rule is simple: look it up yourself.

People Will Let You Down, and That's Okay

The most vulnerable stretch of the episode centered on Logan's 500th episode celebration at East End Social Club, a bar with a golf simulator, an axe-throwing lane, and a separate cigar lounge. He catered the event with cookies and a cookie cake from Otto's Bakehouse, invited around 200 people, including community members, friends, family, and past podcast guests, and only about 40 showed up. Logan was honest that he walked out of that night disappointed, even though he tried to text everyone who did attend the next day to say thank you.

He compared it to a party thrown roughly two years earlier celebrating one year of Your Morning Drive, which drew close to a hundred people, something he now attributes partly to that event offering free alcohol and giveaways. Talking it through with Catherine helped him land on the lesson of the episode: people will let you down, and that does not make them bad people or make him a bad person. Everyone has kids, jobs, and commitments pulling at them. Logan admitted this is tied to a longtime struggle with seeking validation and taking other people's choices personally, and he used the episode to thank the 40 people who did show up rather than dwell on the 160 who did not.

Handwritten Thank-You Notes and Office Updates

On a lighter note, Logan shared a habit he just picked up from a recent networking event: sending handwritten thank-you cards to clients. He designed a simple set on Canva, had them printed, and wrote his first one the day of recording, saying the effort of a genuinely handwritten note lands very differently than a templated mailer from a car dealership. He is now, in his words, just looking for excuses to write more of them, even while grumbling about the cost of stamps.

Logan also talked about wanting to finally decorate his office at 216 Coworking, with plans for a hat rack showcasing hats from clients and podcast guests, a framed magazine cover, the Happy Place and Your Morning Drive logos, and an Iron Man portrait gifted to him years ago. On the business side, Hammerhead Creations is staying busy with a wave of new website builds and remodels as he adopts newer web technology, and his networking group is planning its first quarterly social event at Big Door Vineyards, likely in November.
