Where Your Money Goes“The Red Door Food Pantry exists to fight food insecurity in Bartow County.”
Red Door started as an outreach ministry of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in downtown Cartersville, handing out the same few items each week to 30 to 50 people. After joining the Atlanta Community Food Bank in 2013, it could buy food for about sixteen cents a pound, and it grew into a privately funded 501(c)(3) that now serves around 1,000 households a month.
Families pick up produce, bread, meat, canned goods, and snacks at the pantry each week. Red Door also runs a Senior Box program for neighbors 60 and older and a monthly mobile pantry in Euharlee, and it works alongside partners like Backpack Buddies, Advocates for Children, Cartersville City Schools, and United Way of Bartow County.
Because food costs so little through the Food Bank, small gifts go a long way: at about sixteen cents a pound, a $5 vote can stock roughly 30 pounds of food.
2025 figures from The Daily Tribune News (January 2026) and reddoorfood.com.
The Mardi Gras Gala is Red Door's biggest fundraiser of the year.
Each King and Queen candidate pledges to raise at least $5,000 for the pantry. My goal is to beat it.
Donations to a candidate's page count as votes. The candidates who raise the most are crowned King and Queen.
The court is crowned at the gala, a night of food, dancing, auctions, and raffles at Clarence Brown Conference Center, Cartersville, GA.
Whether it's $1 or $100, every vote goes straight to feeding families in Bartow County. Thank you for being part of this.
